Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA: - Corsa Instruments,
Inc., developer of data acquisition products designed to
enhance both vehicle and driver performance, announces the
immediate availability of their EZ-Logger data acquisition
system. [As of 2006, the EZ-Logger has been retired and the upgraded Corsa EZ-II Data Logger has been released in its place.] The newest member of Corsa’s product line
features 8 analog and 2 digital RPM data channels, easy-to-use,
one click wireless data download, and user-selectable sampling
rate in a compact, water-resistant housing measuring 4.5”
x 3.4” and weighing only 8.7 oz.
EZ-Logger Basic Package, MSRP $1495, includes the EZ-Logger
unit with 512 KB onboard flash memory, lap beacon input
and battery voltage input, easy to use WinCorsa Software,
pre-wired, modular connection cabling, expansion bus, and
instructional manual. This is everything but the sensors
you need to get started in data acquisition. Sensor and
cabling packages configured for specific racing applications
are available, or select from Corsa’s complete line
of pre-cabled temperature, pressure, position, RPM, and
acceleration sensors for plug-and-run compatibility.
In addition to the basic features, the Professional EZ-Logger
Package, MSRP $1995, features 1MB onboard flash memory and
increased sampling rates. The Pro upgrade meets the needs
of those needing more detailed data or collecting data during
longer events. Both the Basic and the Professional versions
of the EZ-Logger share the same package size and weight,
and have a wireless download range of 100 ft. Both systems
come with the WinCorsa software for simple data viewing
and analysis.
Accessories currently available from Corsa include a wide
variety of sensors, bus interface modules, a lap timer with
trackside beacon, and expansion modules. Planned additions
to the line include an EZ-Logger model with removable flash
memory cards for greater data collection capacity, and ODB-II
interface to collect data from stock vehicle sensors.
The EZ-Logger system is designed to inexpensively provide
data useful for tuning your engine, gearbox, or chassis
during vehicle development. Data acquisition can be the
critical tool to allow you to troubleshoot intermittent
and transient effects. Ambitious competitors have discovered
that reviewing lap data using the WinCorsa software is helpful
for improving driver performance. The easy-to-understand
graphical data provides visual and numerical feedback on
driver actions and vehicle performance.
